Newsletter 27.05.16

Dear Parents,

Thank you to those who have already brought in the yellow shirt we've asked for the EYFS end of year concert. If you haven't done so, you still have another week to give one for your child. Please hand them over to us or any of the teaching assistants.

This has week has been busy rehearsing the songs and the dance we will be performing on the day of the concert. We are very pleased to see each one of them getting more familiar with the lyrics, singing and dancing along. The concert will be on Thursday 9th of June 2016.

Here are the lyrics of the songs F1 will be singing.

Have a lovely weekend.

Regards,
Ms Grace, Ms Crislet and the F1 Team

School closes today due to President's Obama's arrival

Dear Parents,

You have been informed that due to President Obama’s arrival to HCMC, roads around TX will be blocked and so there will be difficulty accessing the school for certain periods of time.

Children will have lunch earlier than usual so you can pick them up at 11.30am instead. If you wish to pick them up prior to 11.30am please let us know.

We would appreciate if you could come on time. Please check your email regularly for updates about this matter.

Thank you very much for your kind understanding.

Kind regards,
Ms Grace and Ms Crislet

Newsletter 20.05.16

This week, we continued doing a variety of activities about 'Babies'. The children are showing more awareness on how they should take care of their little brothers or sisters.

In the investigation area, we placed a tub, a couple of baby dolls, soap, water and towel. We encouraged the children to bathe the babies and be gentle with them. Lots of children volunteered to do this activity and they loved it!

This past few weeks, we have been focusing on enhancing the children's mark-making skills. From holding the pens properly to describing their drawings using their words. Most of the children are showing progress when holding  pens. We are developing their tripod grips and some are now doing it well.

Please have a look at some of their wonderful drawings focusing on themselves and their families.

This week, Ms Clarissa also taught the children 2 new songs, 'Mr Sun, Mr Golden Sun' and 'Hey, Yellow Duck'. We will be performing these two songs on our End of Year Celebration. The children were all very happy singing and dancing to these songs.

Here are the lyrics:

Fantastic week F1! You all did amazing!

Newsletter 13.05.16

Dear Parents,

We continue on taking part in the role play area about Babies. Children have continuously engaged themselves in caring for our baby dolls. They have been using all the resources that were made available for them.

Over the course of the week, I have shown videos and photos of my daughter Aria to further extend our children's knowledge of what a baby does and what things a baby needs. It was a joy to hear them talk about what they've seen and relate it with what they remember their mums and dads do for them when they were still little babies. Ms Crislet also helped them share their baby photos to the rest of the class. If you javen't sent your children's baby photos, please email them to us so we can share them to the children.

As you are aware, it's hotter than usual these days and our splash pool doesn't have a cover. In order to ensure that children are safe under the sun, we would like to adjust our routine in the splash pool. Beginning next week, F1 will only be swimming once a week (Tuesday) until the end of the year. We would also like to ask you to follow the suggested swimming clothes for your children to ensure that they are well protected.

Should you have any questions or comments please do not hesitate to email us or speak to us.

Have a lovely weekend.

Regards,
Ms Grace, Ms Crislet and the F1 Team

Newsletter 06.05.16

This week, we developed a nursery role-play to extend the children's interest in babies. All of them showed eagerness in taking care of the babies and ensuring that they don't get hungry. Most of them showed knowledge in feeding the babies and even in changing their clothes. Victoria, Kathy and Carrot even thought of using the feeding bottles as iron and ironed the babies' clothes. Harry also asked 'Where baby shoes?" This is why next week, we will be adding more resources in our role-play area to stimulate children's creativity and give their play an array of possibilities.

Here are some photos for this week:

Fantastic Play F1!
